Choosing the Right Size Keyring

Everyone knows that person who is always misplacing their keys and if you are looking for inspiration for a gift that can be personalised, our Oak keyrings make a fantastic choice.  What size keyring to choose can be a dilemma, so here we'll do our best to help.

With 5 different sizes from extra small to extra large to choose from, it's important to know how much text you can fit on each size. There are no hard and fast rules however the more words and the smaller the keyring size, the tinier the text size is going to be. 

Fox & Folly Wooden Keyring Sizes

  • Extra Small :60mm (L) x19mm (H) x12mm (T)  - Recommended for up to 8 /10 characters on one line
  • Small: 75mm (L) x 23mm (H) x 12mm (T)  - Recommended for up to 15 characters on one line
  • Medium: 100mm (L) x 31mm (H) x 12mm (T) -  Popular gift size, can fit two lines of text up to 20 characters per line
  • Large: 120mm (L) x38mm (H) x12mm (T)  - most popular size for Hotel Room Keys & Household Keys. Suitable for three lines of text up to 25/28 characters per line.
  • Extra Large: 147mm (L) x47mm (H) x12mm (T) - great for anyone who misplaces their keys.  Can fit 3/4 lines of text, a short verse or very large visible text.

Our Personalised Gift Keyring comes in our signature handwriting-style font as shown in the product images. This elegant script style complements the natural oak grain beautifully.

Engraving Tips for Best Results

  • Keep it simple: Short, clear text engraves most beautifully (e.g., "Front Door", "Studio Keys")
  • Capitalisation matters: We'll engrave exactly as you type - double-check your spelling and caps
  • Special characters: Standard punctuation (. , - ' &) works well; avoid complex symbols however ♥ is always a popular choice. 
  • Numbers: Dates and house numbers engrave perfectly (e.g., "No. 42", "Est. 2026")
  • Contrast: The laser engraving creates a darker tone against the natural oak for excellent readability

While we don't currently offer digital previews, our handwriting font is shown clearly in the first product image. Your text will appear in this exact style.

What if I make a spelling mistake?

Please double-check your text carefully before submitting your order. We engrave exactly what you provide. If you're unsure, feel free to contact us before ordering and we'll confirm your text.

Can I change my personalisation after ordering?

Once your order is placed, we begin engraving quickly. Please contact us immediately if you need to make changes - we'll do our best to accommodate if production hasn't started.

How long does personalisation take?

Each keyring is made to order. Standard production time is 7 - 10 business days before dispatch.

Do you offer bulk orders for businesses?

Yes! For corporate gifting or hospitality orders (10+ keyrings), please contact us directly. We provide digital proofs for approval before engraving bulk orders.

What if my text is too long?

If your text exceeds our character limits, we'll contact you to discuss options - either shortening the text or splitting it across two lines or both sides.
